January 2026 Web Server Survey
In the January 2026 survey we received responses from 1,376,952,390 sites across 295,088,466 domains and 14,365,221 web-facing computers. This reflects a loss of 12.6 million sites, and a gain of 3.1 million domains and 392,631 web-facing computers.
OpenResty experienced the largest gain of 10.6 million sites (+11.2%) this month, and now accounts for 7.66% (+0.84pp) of sites seen by Netcraft. Cloudflare made the next largest gain of 2.6 million sites (+1.24%).
nginx experienced the largest loss of -24.3 million sites (-7.09%) this month, reducing its market share to 23.1% (-1.54pp). Apache suffered the next largest loss, down by 2.8 million sites (-1.59%).
Vendor news
Amazon announced the opening of the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, a new AWS partition operated exclusively by EU residents located in the EU.
njs 0.9.5 was released on 13th January, adding support for loading native QuickJS modules.
