'Super Intelligence' Executive Order Fuels Nearly Hundredfold Increase in .si Domain Registrations

We previously reported that registrations of Slovenian .si domains overtook .ai in the 25 hours after President Trump told the UN General Assembly on September 22 that the U.S. would call AI “super intelligence” (SI).
In the week since, .si has continued to outpace .ai. After Trump signed an executive order on September 29, daily .si registrations more than doubled compared with the week between the UN speech and the order.
The sharp acceleration of registrations after the executive order was signed came from OpusDNS, a relatively new domain registrar that advertises itself to domain resellers and has recently added .si support.
Beyond .si, we’ve found a cluster of 87 .com domains pairing well-known brands with the keyword “superintelligence,” registered shortly before the executive order and now listed for resale at $20,000 each.

‘Super intelligence’
Three years ago, we reported on a rise in web servers using .ai (Anguilla) domains driven by global interest in artificial intelligence. With Trump’s new “super intelligence” announcement, and .si being a registrable ccTLD (country code TLD) representing the Central European country of Slovenia, we’ve been investigating domain registration patterns surrounding the announcement.
Spike in registrations
Interest in the .si TLD has risen sharply since the announcement on September 22.
Since our last post, Trump has signed an executive order on September 29 directing that “SI” and “super intelligence” replace “AI” and “artificial intelligence” within the federal executive branch.
The executive order has further boosted the popularity of the .si TLD, more than doubling the average number of daily registrations seen between the UN speech and the order.
We have not yet detected any .gov hostnames containing references to super intelligence.
Register.si’s own figures
Statistics from register.si on September 23.
Statistics from register.si on October 1.
When we looked the day after Trump’s UN speech, register.si showed 4,794 domains registered in the last 24 hours, 3,515 registered in the previous month, and 198,535 total domains on .si.
Now these numbers have all risen, with a 21.6% increase in .si domains in eight days, and about 13 times as many domains registered in September as in August. The 24-hour figure has nearly tripled, from 4,794 to 13,603.
The number of .si registrars has also increased from 91 to 92, which seems to be due to the addition of OpusDNS.
Domain aftermarket and OpusDNS
In our previous post, we reported that the surge in registrations primarily came through Dynadot, a registrar which offers an aftermarket where users can list domains that they own for sale. We saw that just over 50% of the .si domains that we detected as registered at Dynadot between the Truth Social poll and Trump mentioning “super intelligence” in his UN speech were listed on Dynadot’s aftermarket.
Since the executive order, we’ve seen a sharp acceleration in registrations from OpusDNS.

OpusDNS is a new registrar that launched in October 2025. It offers features such as an MCP server, domain parking, and bulk domain management.
Its website says it is “tailored to resellers, hosting providers, and agencies that sell domains professionally under their own name.” This suggests that the OpusDNS registrations may be further reseller activity following what we’ve seen with Dynadot in our previous research.

The OpusDNS website has a banner advertising that .si domains are now available to register through its dashboard. Based on registrations that we've seen, it appears support for this was added on the afternoon of September 23. AI-themed domains such as “supaintelligence[.]si”, “aicelerate[.]si”, and “mcpapps[.]si” are among the first .si domains registered at OpusDNS.
Clusters of registrations
Using the same technology that powers our Preemptive Domain Disruption service, we have identified clusters of domain registrations related to super intelligence, outside the .si TLD.
For example, two large batches totalling 87 .com domains containing common brand names and the keyword “superintelligence” were registered at Spaceship at 05:44 UTC and 06:23 UTC on September 29, before the executive order was signed. Examples from the cluster include:
foxsuperintelligence[.]com
disneysuperintelligence[.]com
discordsuperintelligence[.]com
robloxsuperintelligence[.]com
wixsuperintelligence[.]com
huggingfacesuperintelligence[.]com
Each domain is now listed for sale for $20,000. At time of writing, we haven’t seen evidence that any have transferred ownership.

Cybercrime implications
We’re yet to see an increase in malicious content such as phishing surrounding the super intelligence rename, though the brand-name cluster identified at Spaceship demonstrates that speculative registration of “superintelligence” domains containing brand names is already happening.
Our preemptive disruption will automatically start takedowns against new .si registrations that share infrastructure with known attacks.
We’ll continue to monitor for trends and cybercrime surrounding .si and super intelligence.
